OPT-OUT
CW: references to illness, slavery, and eating disorders.
Saelfen is a somewhat complex character. He comes from a world where violence and treachery are common, and loyalty is often overlooked in favor of personal advancement. Originally intended to be the secondary antagonist in a D&D campaign in which I participated, Saelfen evolved into a more sympathetic figure over time as he formed bonds with the campaign's world heroes. This explains why Saelfen retains some of his problematic villainous aura here and there. With this in mind, I initially play Saelfen as both lawfully neutral and chaotic neutral.
Saelfen does have an eating disorder, as he often goes days without eating. It is a bad habit of his, which he is still dealing with in his current iteration. This stems from his traumatic childhood in the Underdark, where he was subjected to the Ustrain Clan's cruelty. As a result, if anyone is sensitive to such topics, please feel free to opt out below. I won't fault you because I understand the topic is sensitive and sometimes triggering.
Because the Drows are widely regarded as "evil elves" in D&D lore, slavery plays an important role in drowic society, and it was not uncommon for drowic nobility to have two or more slaves for every member. Slaves were responsible for all unskilled labor in drow cities. Drow also do not typically keep animals as pets, as animals may not fully understand their reliance on their owners. Saelfen is still in the process of unlearning all of that, especially now. His family, the Ustrain Clan, were known traders who participated in the slave trade with the Duergars (Dark Dwarves).
So please let me know if you would want to opt-out of such topics presented above.

OUT OF CHARACTER
BACKTAGGING: Backtagging is my bread and butter because I am usually very busy with life, work, and commissions. I have a three-month cutoff, so if a roleplay log has been going on for a few months, I will ask to end it.
THREADHOPPING: I don't mind if others hop into my threads or vice versa. It just depends on the moment.
FOURTHWALLING: No, thank you!
NOT INTERESTED IN: Underaged characters (characters who appear younger than 15 or so) in a romantic setting. Powergamers, metagaming, or anything else that strips my character's autonomy without ooc discussion first.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL: here
AURAL: Saelfen has a tendency to gently roll his R's whenever he speaks, much like a Frenchman. The Elves in general, at least in D&D, come across as very French-coded.
OLFACTORY: : Probably faintly smells of patchouli and other woody and peppery scents. He typically spends his time traveling, so he might smell slightly of rainwater depending.
DEMEANOUR: Secretive, arrogant, yet strangely regal.
